South Portland High School Shooting Investigations: A shooting investigation is ongoing near South Portland High School and South Portland Community Center on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. According to reports, a mandatory lockdown has been reported at both campuses.
Law enforcement agencies are on the scene for the investigation. Parents have been urged to avoid the scene due to the ongoing “active investigations.” A heavy police presence is currently at the South Portland High School located at the 637 Highland Ave, South Portland, ME.
City of South Portland: South Portland High School and the South Portland Community Center are currently on lockdown as Police investigate reports of an incident at the High School. Currently, there is no indication of an actual threat. However, police are recently on the scene and this is an ACTIVE investigation. All South Portland Schools are in secure mode as a precaution with no one allowed in or out as the investigation is taking place. South Portland Police will release additional information as it is available. Please avoid the area until further notice.
